Wirausaha Mandiri workshop was first held on 14 to 15 November 2007 in the Upper Room XII floor of Annex Building, Hotel Nikko, Jakarta. As many as 650 students from 18 state universities or private universities around  Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi) region are attending this workshop.

Some workshop speakers include Ir. Ciputra - Director of Ciputra Group, Djoenaedi Joesoef - Chairman Of The Board PT Konimex and Hermawan Kertajaya - Marketing Expert.

Ir. Ciputra said that Indonesia is actually very rich in agricultural product that is ready to be processed if we have a lot of tough entrepreneur to exploit it. During the time all of Indonesia's natural wealth is not processed with the maximum because there are more entrepreneurs are using instinct and business networks rather than using the actual knowledge about entrepreneurship. Indeed, entrepreneurship can not be undertaken only with the mere encouragement of talent and environment, but also requires determination and courage. According Ciputra, the mindset needs to be changed in order to accurately see the opportunity, even dared to turn challenges into business opportunities

Djoenaedi Joesoef said that to become a successful entrepreneur requires more than just a passion. It also required hard work and persistance. "I start my business from scratch. By selling drugs, traveling from village to village and from market to market ", he recalled. As a traditional entrepreneur, Djoenaedi must have a desire to continue doing business the right way. All it takes discipline and integrity. "I initiated from below and start small scale business, then this step by step method can raise my business", he continued, he who once stayed at the customer's home because  there is no money to stay even in cheap hostels.

Hermawan Kertajaya marketing experts, stated that there are 3 (three) key success factor of entrepreneurship.The first factor is the ability of entrepreneurs to produce unique products (differentiation). Second, build a brand value. And third, choosing the right positioning. Capital factors can be obtained from the banks. "If you are competent and prospective customers, the bank must be ready to help."
