Wirausaha Mandiri is the contribution of Mandiri Bank for the economic growth for Indonesian nation, which is realized on an ongoing basis and focus on the younger generation which is the next generation of this country. Implementation of this program is based on aour concern to the large number of unemployed in Indonesia, especially among the younger generation. The number of open unemployment in Indonesia at 2007 reached 10.5 million people, and then decreased to 9.4 million people (2008) and 9.2 million people (2009).

A large number of unemployed is due to the paradigm (mindset) that most people want to be employees, while the availability of jobs in the formal sector is very limited.  This paradigm is a regrettable thing because of the high potential of their abilities and creativity of young people.

According to David McClelland, to developed a prosperous country, the minimum required number of entrepreneurs is 2% of the total population. United States, in 2007 had 11.5%, entrepreneur, Singapore in 2005 has a 7.2% entrepreneurs, while Indonesia has only 0.18% entrepreneur.

Through the implementation of Wirausaha Mandiri program since 2007, we would like to invite young people into independent generation, so that not only the ob seekers but to become a creator of employment.  Also realize the role of Bank Mandiri in moving the SME sector as a driving factor the nation's economy.
